9 years later...It's finally happening!
Fun Fact: Mark and Sophia’s story actually started while sitting on a rock in New York City’s central park. Who knew that high school choir trips to New York could lead to a 9 year long relationship!
After Sophia graduated from high school, they began their long-distance relationship, as Sophia headed off to college at the University of Denver. Loving that he could brag about dating a college girl, Mark finished off his Senior year at Orono before heading off to the University of St. Thomas. After four years of facetime dates, weekend trips to visit each other, and spending their short summers together in Minnesota, the two were finally back together in person when Sophia graduated and moved back home to Minnesota.
Mark finished college and started his first ‘big boy’ job at Horwitz as a Project Manager. During that time, Sophia started veterinary school at the University of Minnesota. While Sophia was studying hard in school, Mark found that his hobby of restoring antique Jet Skis wasn’t enough to keep him busy, so he bought a house in 2022 with plans to do minor renovations.
In typical Mark fashion, ‘minor renovations’ have turned into gutting the entire house (or as they now call it their ‘structure’) down to the studs. Mark and Sophia’s date nights now consist of morning strolls through the aisles of Menards and Jeep rides to the Hardware store as they finish up their house. Mark and Sophia are so excited to be married and can’t wait to move into their home-sweet-home.
